MISSION STATEMENT
Medair is committed to providing a safe and cost-effective air ambulance service to our clients by operating as an extension of your brand. We deliver on your promises and ensure that your clients are treated to the best in air medical service that we can provide.
COMPANY OVERVIEW & HISTORY
Medair is Africa’s largest independent air ambulance service. We have an 18 year unbroken safety history with no accidents – no mean feat when operating on the Dark Continent.
Medair was established in 1993 as Aerosud Charter, but was repositioned in 1994 as an air ambulance Company with the aim of improving the levels of service provided to patients at that time. Since then, the Company has gone from strength-to-strength, growing organically to the stage where we now have our own maintenance facilities and a 20,000 square foot hangar, complete operations center and departure lounges, for both flight as well as medical crews.
Our safety-first approach to air ambulance operations means that our clients are well taken care of from the aviation, as well as the medical point of view.
As a licensed Part 121 (Large Aircraft) as well as Part 135 (Small Aircraft) operator, Medair complies with ICAO as well as South African Civil Aviation Regulations. Medair is audited no less than 5 times annually, this includes external audits by independent companies such as Litson and HART.
Medair is a fully compliant Black Empowered Company, with 50% owned by Mvelphanda Holdings and 50% by the Executive Directors.
Medair also operates a VIP charter division which is branded as Elite Jet.
